Hey, Anonymous!

Permanent piercings like the ones you described won't prevent you from doing modeling completely but it will limit the type of modeling you want to do and could be a put off to agencies, if agency representation is your goal.

I don't know what type of modeling you're interested in but the kind of piercings you have could be a hindrance if you want to do stuff like high fashion, runway and swimwear, since these are modeling categories that involve showing skin (tastefully) for certain outfits and would be hard to work around. Not all clients want to take the extra step of airbrushing out the appearance of piercings in photos and in runway shows they would be impossible to hide if those areas of your skin had to be shown.

For print work, however, it may be easier since this category doesn't show a lot of skin and those parts would likely be covered up by clothing. So it all depends on what kind of modeling you're hoping to get into. Of course glamour and alternative modeling welcomes all kinds of piercings and tattoos...I don't know if that's something you've entertained but it is an option if the mainstream categories end up not being a good fit.

Typically, that phrase is "agency speak" for politely saying you aren't what they're looking for. If you don't meet the physical requirements stated -- for example, if it was a fashion agency you were talking to and you weren't within their stated height or size range, that would be a common response. Or it could mean that your look isn't one that they feel is currently in demand at the moment and they don't want to take the chance of signing you, only to have you sitting on roster the entire time without any traction.  While it's not a great response to receive, it is their polite way of saying no, thank you. Now that you have a definite answer from that particular agent, you can move on to submitting to others and hopefully find the one that you are the right type for. Best of luck to you!
