Hi, Anonymous!

Future Faces NY has a pretty good track record and not many negative reviews. From browsing through their website I didn't see any particular red flags (i.e. signing up for workshops, modeling classes, etc.) or mention of any upfront fees/costs.

From what I could see, they appear legit but it is important for you to submit yourself since I don't work with them and couldn't possibly know any insider info other than what I could find on the Internet.

Definitely submit yourself and see what happens. Should you get invited for an interview be sure to attend and if they make any mention of charging you for anything before offering you a contract or if they use high pressure sales tactics to get you to agree to work with them, recognize those as red flags.

*Remember, if you sign a contract first and then they ask you to cover certain costs like paying for your test shoot, headshots or comp card printing then that is perfectly legal since they offered you a contract first.

Typically, that phrase is "agency speak" for politely saying you aren't what they're looking for. If you don't meet the physical requirements stated -- for example, if it was a fashion agency you were talking to and you weren't within their stated height or size range, that would be a common response. Or it could mean that your look isn't one that they feel is currently in demand at the moment and they don't want to take the chance of signing you, only to have you sitting on roster the entire time without any traction.  While it's not a great response to receive, it is their polite way of saying no, thank you. Now that you have a definite answer from that particular agent, you can move on to submitting to others and hopefully find the one that you are the right type for. Best of luck to you!
