DANIA!!!!
I was wondering if you could help me with learning to have good male runway walk. Maybe a video. Thanks!

BTW- You have been a HUGE help!

Hey there, Anonymous! I love your enthusiasm, lol. :-D Finding credible video tutorials for male models to help them with their runway walk is hard to find but below is a blog post I did with a video embedded that shows a top fashion show with male models:

Helpful Tutorial for Learning the Runway Walk (ignore the first link in the post...that's a tutorial for female models, you'll want to pay attention to the video in the body of the actual post).

Here is also a link to a more recent 2010 Versace show that is better quality and clearly shows the ways that the different male models walk on the runway:

A few notes about the male model runway walk:
  •  Unlike female models, you'll be walking with your feet side by side and spaced apart appropriately, not placing one foot in front of the other.
  • Keep your shoulders squared but not too stiff in body posture. Make sure your arms swing naturally but not too much.
  • When coming to the end of the runway, most male models strike two types of poses: they'll either stop and shift their weight from one leg to the other, creating a slight leaning to each side before walking away, or they'll stop for a quick beat and then start to look like they're walking backwards before turning around (you'll see what I mean by this in the video of my blog post).
Overall, it's all about your strut and attitude. There isn't too much posing required like female models so that makes things a bit easier for you. Reviewing male models in fashion shows online is one of the best resources I recommend.

Make sure to practice your walk! To get the best results, practice on a smooth surface (not carpet) and wear comfortable dress shoes. Have a full length mirror to walk in front of--this is the best way to view how your body language is, if it's similar to the male models in the videos you've reviewed and gain confidence in your walk.

Hope that helps!
