Hi there, Anonymous!

I hate to say it, but if you're currently having this much difficulty getting your foot in the door modeling with your braces you may have to wait until the braces are removed before going forward. How long do you have to keep them on?

I don't know if you're trying to find an agent or are looking for your own modeling gigs as a freelance model but the braces will be your biggest obstacle. However, you have to keep searching. Only by exhausting all your possibilities can you get a better idea of what options could be out there for you.

If you haven't already, you could set up a free profile on Model Mayhem (www.modelmayhem.com), which will let you network with local photographers who may be more than willing to do shoots with you even with your braces. This modeling social media site also has a free casting section where you can find your own work, which could give you more flexibility in finding modeling work.

Typically, that phrase is "agency speak" for politely saying you aren't what they're looking for. If you don't meet the physical requirements stated -- for example, if it was a fashion agency you were talking to and you weren't within their stated height or size range, that would be a common response. Or it could mean that your look isn't one that they feel is currently in demand at the moment and they don't want to take the chance of signing you, only to have you sitting on roster the entire time without any traction.  While it's not a great response to receive, it is their polite way of saying no, thank you. Now that you have a definite answer from that particular agent, you can move on to submitting to others and hopefully find the one that you are the right type for. Best of luck to you!
