Absolutely. Many models have nose piercings, although for modeling assignments they typically remove them and then put it back in afterwards. So it's a compromise.

It also depends on the kind of piercing. Many have small studs or rings. If it's a more alternative type of piercing that isn't easy or possible to remove, that could be a challenge for an agency and that particular model would need to have a look that was really in demand for them to be okay with the model wearing it during modeling jobs. There are always some exceptions to the rule in these kinds of cases and it varies from model to model.

However, it is easier for fashion/runway models to get away with the type of nose piercing I described above. For commercial/print models, it tends to be more of a turn off for print agencies but I'm specifically talking about the more alternative versions, not the small studs or rings that can be removed easily.

Typically, that phrase is "agency speak" for politely saying you aren't what they're looking for. If you don't meet the physical requirements stated -- for example, if it was a fashion agency you were talking to and you weren't within their stated height or size range, that would be a common response. Or it could mean that your look isn't one that they feel is currently in demand at the moment and they don't want to take the chance of signing you, only to have you sitting on roster the entire time without any traction.  While it's not a great response to receive, it is their polite way of saying no, thank you. Now that you have a definite answer from that particular agent, you can move on to submitting to others and hopefully find the one that you are the right type for. Best of luck to you!
