Answering a Reader Question #679

Hello, Dania.
I am going to go to a casting call next week and I wanted to wear short pants. I was just wondering if we have shave??
I don't shave because when you start shaving you have to shave continously... also there are things people say, if you shave, your hair gets thicker, etc... Are they true?

Thank you :D

Hi there, Anonymous!

It is true that shaving does end up becoming a constant chore and that the hair does grow back thicker, however, this isn't the only option you have when it comes to hair removal for the legs.

Waxing is a popular alternative that actually causes the hair to grow back much thinner over time. You also don't have to do it as often as shaving with a razor. There are plenty of nail salons and day spas that offer this service for a very affordable price. All you need to do is an online search to find out what places are near you or simply drive around town and chances are you'll spot a nail shop that also does waxing.

Shaving/waxing the hairs on your legs isn't mandatory for modeling but if you have a lot of hair and/or they are dark in color or very noticeable, then it would be in your best interest (if you want to pursue modeling seriously) to remove the hair.

Definitely check out waxing--I think aside from the initial discomfort, once you get used to it, you'll be happy with the results.
