Reputable modelling agencies seek out 'quirks of character'; often educated and culturally diverse in terms of their intellect, with expressive facial features that are not synthetically composed. I am 42 and look no more than 20, and 18 on a different day. I am not a model, but do have all of the attributes to become one, but here's the thing, where to begin with all of these integral human qualities when you are exquisitely more beautiful than everyone else in your town? Hi, Shikira Clare, There are many reputable agencies out there that represent mature, lifestyle and commercial/print models, which are the categories you are eligible for, if you were ever interested in pursuing modeling to some degree. While looking younger than your numercial age is certainly an advantage, it is also ideal to submit fo

Hannahburan Wrote: Hello Dania! I am interested in starting modeling. My measurements are 32/24/34, however I am only 5'6". What is the best way to get started? And is there any chance I would be able to do anything other than commercial modeling with my height? Thank you! Hey there, Hannahburan! I would recommend checking out this blog post I wrote that breaks down what your first steps should be in getting started with modeling: Where Do You Start in Modeling? Aside from commercial/print, you could do other niches such as parts modeling, fitness/sports, swimwear and/or lingerie (if you're 18+). If agency representation is your goal, it will be up to them to determine what additional types of modeling they can submit you for in addition to print work so you don't have to feel like you're stuck just doing commercial/print if there are other categories you'd like to try. Hope that helps!

Shonnon Marshall Wrote: Hi! My name is Shonnon and I'm a model or at least aspiring. I have done TFP shots with people near where I live and I think they look good and I'm doing a shoot this weekend in the city. But anyway I have acne and my dermatologist classified as severe acne but the thing is the acne doesn't cover my whole face it's just certain spots. He put me on this regimine and my skin does appear to be healing and people have even mentioned it and I just want ed to know if you think I have what it takes to model. The only thing is I have dark spots but my dermatologist said they'd take care of it after the acne Hey Shonnon! Based on the situation you described, I think you can certainly continue pursuing modeling. The good news is that your skin is getting better and you have a dermatologist helping you get your complexion back on track--smart move! For now, just be patient in letting your skin care regimen work its magic and follow any instruc

Anonymous Wrote: Hi Dania, I am thinking about enrolling my daughter in modeling classes, but she has acne on her forehead and she has some acne on her chest and a little bit on her back. She also has hair on her stomach, but does this really matter? Everyone keeps coming up to me saying that she should model but I am not sure because of these things. What do you think? Btw my daughter is 16. Hi there, Anonymous! I professionally and personally don't recommend modeling classes as a first course of action in pursuing the industry because they are not necessary, nor mandatory/required for new models hoping for agency representation. I strongly encourage you to look up the websites of legitimate modeling agencies within a 2 hour's drive from where you live as a first step. Submitting your daughter to agencies is free and she will not need previous experience/training, a portfolio, headshots/comp cards, etc. in order to be considered for agency representation. 9 times ou
